Silver Key Beach on Sanibel is a hidden gem. It’s part of the Silver Key Preserve which is a 64-acre preserve protected by the city of Sanibel. The preserve is home to many of the island’s unique species of wildlife including Sea Turtles, and the Snowy Plover, impressive vegetation and, a magical secret beach that is often empty and peaceful. Silver Key Beach is nestled between Bowman’s Beach and Blind Pass. It is quite the hike either way however, Blind Pass is probably a little closer. Silver Key Beach on Sanibel is only accessible by foot and there are no amenities. You can park at Bowman’s Beach or Blind Pass for $5 an hour, Bowman’s has more parking and better amenities than Blind Pass. It is a great spot for shelling and as mentioned, a great place for wildlife.
