SEARCHING FOR A DELICIOUS MEAL WHILE VISITING CAPTIVA FLORIDA?
Sun Kind of Living believes Old Captiva House is the spot. Located in the middle of the island of Captiva (one bridge away from Sanibel), Old Captiva House is one of the island’s more high-end dining experiences open for breakfast and dinner. The restaurant itself is located on the property of ‘Tween Waters Island Resort and Spa, a fantastic resort with beachfront access to the gulf. Considered a landmark on the National Registry of Historic Places, Old Captiva House is a beautiful place to enjoy a spectacular meal.
INCREDIBLE FOOD WITH GREAT OPTIONS
Sun Kind of Living found that Old Captiva House has a well-rounded menu, with food options for everyone. With dinner entrees varying from seafood to steak and even pasta, there are plenty of choices to keep you coming back. The Sun Kind of Living team visited Old Captiva House one of their first nights visiting the Captiva area and ended up having to go back for a second time due to how amazing the food was. We still think about some of the tasty treats we ordered while there.
STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
While eating at Old Captiva House, the Sun Kind of Living team ordered a variety of items that they typically would not normally order. This was the best decision we could have possibly made. The Deconstructed Tuna Roll, Blue Crab Bisque, and Wedge Salad were great ways to start our meal. If possible, we would’ve bought the Blue Crab Bisque by the gallon, because that’s how delicious it was. Cioppino (Fisherman’s Stew), Triple Tail (only available April, May, June), Jumbo Prawns, Pomegranate Glazed Lamb Chops, Duck, and Gruyere Chicken Fettuccine were some of the entrees we enjoyed during our visit. The lamb chops, duck, and pasta were favorites, but all were delicious.
DRINKS AND SWEET TREATS
Old Captiva House has a great cocktail menu with lots of different tasty combinations. Further, they have an extensive wine and cocktail list. Their drinks pair well with your meal or can be enjoyed as a treat after finishing your meal. Old Captiva House has a number of desserts to finish your dining experience off on a sweet note. Sun Kind of Living enjoyed a Crème Brule and Key Lime Pie, both of which we would order again.
