EXPERIENCE ALL THAT POLK COUNTY FLORIDA NATURE HAS TO OFFER
Located in Lakeland Florida, about halfway between Orlando and Tampa, is the amazing Circle B Bar Reserve. Composed of around 1,260 acres, this protected land is nestled in the heart of Polk County. Circle B Bar Reserve has over 3 miles of unpaved hiking/biking trails, which Sun Kind of Living thinks are perfect for seeing the variety of ecosystems that Florida nature has to offer! Part of their trails take you around Lake Hancock, which almost guarantees you to see some alligators while passing through.
9 DIFFERENT TRAILS
Circle B Bar Reserve has a number of trail options that take you across the property, where you can experience different things. On their website or on the paper map you can pick up at the start of your day each trail has a description, number of miles, level of intensity (most being easy or moderate), and the level of shade throughout the trail. Sun Kind of Living’s personal favorites are Alligator Alley and Marsh Rabbit Run. Alligator Alley is 1 mile, rated easy, and mostly shaded. This trail runs with Lake Hancock on one side and marsh on the other. This is where we have seen numerous gigantic alligators, some of which sit right in the middle of the trail. It is important to remember that Circle B Bar Reserve is their home and visitors must be respectful of that. Marsh Rabbit Run is 0.7 miles, rated easy, and is partially shaded. Sun Kind of Living thinks this is the perfect trail to see numerous birds, fish, turtles, alligators, and native Florida plants. One side of the trail is the Banana Creek Canal while the other is marsh.
